Amy Tangerine Day Book - My Happy Book

Hi PPS folks,

This is Shruti here and I am back with yet another project. :) This time I wanted to share with you guys what I made out of my Amy Tangerine Day book..

Often we tend to forget the good things in life and lament about what we have lost or do not have.. especially when you are having a bad day. I am a pretty happy and a self motivated person but at times even I feel the need to cheer myself up.. So I thought, why not jot down all the things that make me happy in a book... More like My Happy Book! Something that I'd like sitting on my coffee table and occasionally skim through when I feel like it.

So here you go.. My very own handmade Happy Book!

I've filled the pages with lots of photos and quotes..

(psstt.. those baby like fingers aren't mine.. those are my husbands.. ;) ) The number stickers are from the Echo Park - A Boy's Life collection

Hehe.. thats when my friends came over and we went all mad and posed for a lot of pictures.. :)

That was my little pet squirrel, peanut!

I recommend all of you should try making your own Happy Book. When I started off making this one.. I was not sure if I would have enough happy things to list out to fill it up! But its only when you sit down to list everything do you realize that you have so much to be grateful for!!

I really hope you guys liked what I made out of my Day book.. I've used a lot of alphas, embellishments and pattern papers for this project.. Almost all of them are available in the store.. Scroll down to check out the complete list of items used on this book..

A card with an envelope tutorial

Hi all! Donna here for a simple step-by-step card-making tutorial.

My card will have a matching envelope (template by Kelleigh Ratzlaff Designs) and perfect for those with bulky embellishments.

1. Print and cut your envelope

2. Cut base for you card. Mine is 4.75x4.75

4. Cut a 2x6 strip of paper and use your preferred border puncher for added touch.

Adhere this to the flap of the envelope as seen below.

5. Ink the edges of the base card with Distress Ink.

6. Start designing your card. I first cut approx. 4.5x4.5 paper and also inked the edges.

7. Cut another paper approx. 3.75x6inches and use a border puncher to 3 strips as seen below.

Then layer the strips as seen below

8. Stamp your sentiment to a piece of square paper. I used Pebbles Happy birthday stamp.

and adhere it on top along with the other embellishments (Dear Lizzy Neopolitan CB shapes and OA Sidewalks flower stack).

I used foam tapes for added dimension.

9. I adhered the flower/leaves a little bit off-center

Hope you like it!
Thanks for dropping by!

Materials can be found in the Pretty Paper Studio store.

October Challenge: Make a set of three cards

On the occasion of World Card Day this month, I, Shruti, have a set of 4 'Welcome baby' cards to share with you all today. I've used some of the new craft stuff available at Pretty Paper Studio right now.. Do check them all out at the PPS store soon before they vanish out!

I've used multiple pattern papers here and layered them. I am going crazy with my new MS butterfly punches bought from PPS.. They are so pretty!! You might find a lot of these butterflies in my creations from now. *winks* The American Crafts POP! Microbeads in Lipgloss add a bit of texture to the card. The sentiment is heat embossed with a white embossing powder.

Supplies Used:

Hero Hues Snow Folded Cards
Martha Stewart Punches Medium Classic Butterfly
Martha Stewart Punches Medium Classic 3 in 1 Butterfly
American Crafts Knock Outs - Scallop Hearts
My Mind's Eye - Miss Caroline Collection Dilly Dally Up - 6 x 6 Paper Pad
My Mind;s Eye - Howdy Doody 6x6
My Mind's Eye 6x6 Fiddlesticks Paper Pad Miss Caroline
American Crafts Cute Daydreams Small Clear Stamp
Zing embossing powder: White

I simply stamped out the hearts and cut them to look like balloons, later attached some Bakers Twine and gathered them together using a masking tape. A very simple card!

Supplies Used:

Hero Hues: Punch Folded cards
Amy Tangerine Sketchbook Paper Pad 6"x6"
American Crafts Cute Daydreams Small Clear Stamp
American Crafts - Pebbles - Country Picnic Collection - Embossed Stickers - Masking Tape
American Crafts Amy Tangerine Lovely Straw Foam Rubber Thickers
My Mind's Eye - Follow Your Heart - Be Happy - Twine

A simple baby card using some American Crafts Pop! micro beads and Wow! glitter powder. If you guys have never tried Wow! extra fine glitter powder yet then I must say you are missing out on something. I've tried so many brands of glitter but this beats them all. I am in love with it.. Its like adding powdered rhinestones to your project.. it has this jewel like quality. I also sprinkled some glitter on microbeads to get some shimmer on them too.

Supplies Used:

Hero Hues Latte Folded cards
Inkessentials Surfaces Manila Craft Tag
My Mind's Eye - Miss Caroline Collection Dolled Up - 6 x 6 Paper Pad
American Crafts Pop! Microbeads: Lipgloss
American Crafts Wow! Glitter: Extra Fine: Bubblegum
Elements Glitter Buttons
My Mind's eye - Miss Caroline - Like - Twine
American Crafts Amy Tangerine Lovely Straw Foam Rubber Thickers
American Crafts Precision Pen

I've used soft pastel colors on this one. The butterflies are stamped and heat embossed on colored card stock with white embossing powder. I wanted the card to look like a photo frame so I cut out the center of the card and stuck a white card stock behind with a double sided foam tape. I wrote 'Baby' with glue and then poured some glitter powder on it.. How cute is that?

Look how sparkly they are!!!

Supplies used:

Hero Hues Snow Folded Cards
My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline Favourite Stamp Set
American Crafts - Pebbles - Country Picnic Collection - Embossed Stickers - Masking Tape
Dear Lizzy Neapolitan Tile Letters Stickers Ballerina
American Crafts Wow! Glitter: Extra Fine: Bubblegum
Zing embossing powder: White

Hope these cards inspire you to enter our challenge this month.

That's all folks!

Until next time!

With Lotsa Love - Card making tutorial

Heya Crafters!
This is Shruti here. I made a fun card today and I thought I'd share a step by step tutorial on how I did it. When I was halfway through this card I thought it kind of looked like a donut. hehehe.. What do you guys think?

Start by using a white cardstock. I used the Hero Arts Water Color paper in Bright White for the card as I knew I would be distressing it later.

Fold it into half

Use a circle cutter to cut out a perfect circle. I used the Martha Stewart circle cutter at 4 7/8 inches to cut out a perfect circle. I love my MS circle cutter and am obsessed with it!!!!

Distress it with Mustard Seed on the outer edges of the circle.

Then cut out a small circle (2 7/8th inches) with the cutter from the center and distress it with Victorian Velvet distress ink. I use a double sided tape to hold the card down while distressing.

Doesn't it not look like a donut now? :P

Cut out a piece of acetate sheet to cover the hole in the center with a double sided sticky red tape.

Now, emboss the jar image on a pattern paper with white embossing powder.

Tie a twine around its neck and glue it down using a red sticky tape.

Punch out little hearts..

and fill the jar with them.

I dipped the edges of the card in a white ink pad.

Finish it by tying a ribbon on top and of course a butterfly *winks*

There you have it.. a donut card for your loved one With lotsa love! ;)

Supplies used:

Inks: Distress inks in Mustard Seed and Victorian Velvet, Color Box ink pad in White, Color Box ink pad in Red
Acetate Sheet
Ribbons

Until next time!
